Life

Hugo Maurice Julien Claus was a Belgian. Hugo Claus was born on 5 April 1929 at Sint-Janshospitaal in Bruges, Belgium. Hugo Claus had Alzheimer's and decided to terminate his life by euthanasia at the Middelheim Ziekenhuis. Hugo Claus was educated in a boarding school.

Literary career

Apart from being an producer and poet, he was an writer of stories, novels, film scripts, libretti and plays an artist and a translator. He won more than forty literary prizes. He wrote the most in Dutch he also wrote some poetry in English.
